 Wessington Springs Office

Fred started Krohmer Agency Inc. in 1989 on Wessington Springs Main street.  In 1992 there was a fire that destroyed the Main Street location.  The office was rebuilt in its current location on Wallace Ave.  In 2004, the Krohmer's purchased Gerhard Agency in Plankinton and White Lake.   Fred has extensive knowledge in crop, farm, home, auto, health & life.  Fred enjoys working with his customers on insurance solutions that make sense for their everyday life.

Fred is an active member of the Wessington Springs community.  He has served on the Hospital Advisory Board, a current Jerauld County Commissioner, Pheasants Forever and the Community Revolving Loan Advisory Board.  He has served on the Wessington Springs Area Development Board, the Wessington Springs Township Board.  He also volunteers for Jerauld County 4-H and is supporter of 4-H achievement days in Jerauld and Aurora County.  Fred also spends his fall months guiding pheasant hunters from around the country at the lodge with his son Jake.

Fred and his wife Jan live on a farm south of Wessington Springs where they raise livestock and farm.  They have three children Kali (Justin), Betsy (Eric) and Jake (Greta).  They have four grandchildren Charlee, Cooper, Jayden, Hazel & Graysen.  In their spare time they enjoy livestock shows with their kids and traveling.

Jan started at the Agency when it opened in 1989, and continued to work part time until 2005 when she retired from teaching instrumental music to work full time at the Agency.  Jan has many years of experience in life and health insurance as well as property and casualty lines of insurance.  Jan currently specializes in health insurance including group health and Medicare Coverages, along with being one of the travel agents in the agency.  Additionally, she looks after and keeps up with all of the books and manages the business end of the Agency.

Jan is a very active member of the Wessington Springs community as she serves as the choir director for the Wessington Springs Methodist Church as well as choir director for the Wessington Springs Community Choir, she is also a former member of the Huron Symphony Orchestra (where she has served as principal Flutist for the past 30 years) and the Huron Municipal Band.  She also enjoys volunteering to help the local 4-H clubs.  Jan also occasionally teaches private music lessons.

Jan enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, riding horse, and spending time with family and friends.

Betsy Schroeder joined the Krohmer Agency, Inc. team in April 2013 after graduating from South Dakota State University in December 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and minors in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Marketing, and Business.  She is licensed in property and casualty, life and health, and crop insurance, and spends most of her time in the Wessington Springs office, although she is occasionally the floater, floating to all three of the offices when needed. She is license to sell insurance in South Dakota & Nebraska.

Betsy enjoys traveling and has actually been to 15 different countries, additionally she enjoys any and all things adventure related from white water rafting to bungee jumping she is not afraid to try anything once. 

Betsy lives in Wessington Springs with her husband Eric, her daughter Hazel and son Graysen.   Together, they own the local bowling alley Pin Twisters and in her spare time Betsy enjoys volunteering as an EMT with the Jerauld County Ambulance and helping with local 4-H events.

 Kaci Anson joined Krohmer Agency in March of 2021. She is licensed in property, casualty & crop insurance. Kaci is a crop specialist ready to help with all your crop insurance needs. Kaci works mainly out of our Wessington Springs location, but she also works often in White Lake. 

Kaci and her husband Collin live outside of Wessington Springs on a farm/ranch. She is also a busy mom of a beautiful little girl, Hallie! When she isn’t working in town she can be found working with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, fishing, reading books and spending time with her family and friends.

White Lake Office 

Jill Grohs joined Krohmer Agency in 2008.  She is a licensed property, casualty, life and health insurance agent. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her customers and helping them with all of their insurance needs. 

In Jill’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter.  They enjoy traveling, camping, gardening, and spending time with family.

Plankinton Office 

Lindsey Weich has been a dedicated member of Krohmer Agency since August 2006. She holds licenses in property and casualty, health and life insurance, and crop insurance. Lindsey specializes in developing customized commercial insurance solutions for her clients. She also holds the AFIS designation, certifying her expertise in Agribusiness and Farm Insurance. Lindsey is licensed to sell insurance in South Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, and Montana.

Beyond her professional commitments, Lindsey is passionate about community involvement. She enjoys playing volleyball and golf, supporting MVP Titan activities, and volunteering locally. An active member of her church, she leads a women’s Bible study and serves on the Plankinton School Board. Additionally, Lindsey is a member of the Plankinton Service Club and serves on the board of directors for Blessings Repeated.

Lindsey resides in Plankinton with her husband, Travis. They have three children: Mariah and her husband Chase, Maddox, and Mataya.

Keara Hohn joined the agency in June 2014 and is a licensed agent in property, casualty, life, and health insurance. She is licensed to sell insurance in South Dakota & North Dakota.

Beyond her work at the agency, Keara is deeply involved in her community. She serves as board president for Blessings Repeated, a local non-profit thrift store, where she helps organize the community backpack program and assists with storefront merchandising. She also leads a cancer support group at her church.

A passionate sports fan, Keara loves cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Royals. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her family, reading, and spending time on the family farm. Keara and her husband, Dustin, live in Plankinton with their beloved dog, Jake and cat Milo.

 Customer Service Representative

Plankinton Office

Dennisha Tobin joined Krohmer Agency in November 2024 as the Customer Service Representative in the Plankinton office. She is currently working toward becoming a licensed agent in property, casualty, and crop insurance.

Dennisha was raised on a family farm near Lake Andes and now lives north of Plankinton with her husband, Chance, and their two sons, Stetsen and Tymber. The Tobin family stays busy with their cattle and sheep operations, along with farming to feed their livestock—all while keeping up with two energetic and happy little boys.
